About Me

Here I share the best pipe related advice I have received. Every pipe smoker should do these 5 things;
1). Inspect tobacco for mold frequently (smoking mold is the main cause of smoking related cancers)
2). Brush teeth with a soft toothbrush and rinse mouth well after every bowl. Get the free radicals out of your mouth. Tobacco smoke contains many toxic, carcinogenic and mutagenic chemicals, as well as stable and unstable free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the particulate and the gas phase with the potential for biological oxidative damage.
3). Make sure to eat lots of food items naturally high in antioxidants like fresh berries and fruits. Antioxidants are compounds that inhibit oxidation. Oxidation is a chemical reaction that can produce free radicals, thereby leading to chain reactions that may damage the cells of organisms.
4). Rest your mouth as well as pipes (never smoke with an open cut or raw spot in your mouth or throat). Smoking causes inflammation in the mouth, throat and sinuses. Chronic inflammation is known to be a mechanism greatly increasing the occurrence of cancer.
5). Every quarter year (4 times a year), visit the Dentist for a Pipe-Smoker related checkup. The dentist will check for telltale signs of all the bad stuff and nip it in the bud should it be found. Early prevention is the key for oral issues
