Virginia Gold Natural

The grassy, citrusy, toasty Virginia forms the base. The nutty, earthy, toasty burley is a secondary player. The sugar topping is mild, and mildly tames the tobaccos. Has a very mild nic-hit. Won’t bite, but gets a little warm on the tongue if puffed fast. Burns clean and slightly fast with a consistent, though unremarkable flavor. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and needs an average number of relights. Has a very plain after taste. Can be an all day smoke.

If you're looking for a simple, VaBur no thrills type of smoke with a little spiciness, this might be up your pipe stem. When I bought this it was a big turn off. It seemed somewhat rough and sour right out of the bag. Jarred this for several months, and still didn't quite seem right. Not one to waste, I let it dry until it felt like paper confetti. Gave her a false light then another. It was far different and dare I say good. Not great or extraordinary, but more in a this is nice type of way. Malty, peppery and got sweeter down the bowl. The bowl and room note reminds one of graham crackers, oatmeal, perfume and spice. Sounds odd, but it really works and gives one a sense of comfort and relaxation. Would I smoke all the time, no. However it will fit the bill if you want a break from English or heavy aromatics.
