Bentley The Royal Vanilla
(1.25)
Absulutely regal. A delicious mixture of the best Virginia grades, a touch of burley, and mellow black cavendish that has been matured in the press. Aromatic vanilla from Madagascar, and a good share of honeydew make this a feast for the senses of any connoisseur.

The Royal Vanilla feels a bit dry out of the fresh tin and is presented in a not-so-clean, fine ribbon cut, making me think the term “Royal” was to be a sarcastic joke. When I try to use the Frank Method to fill my pipe, it kind of "falls apart". The added aroma appears to be the same as in a dozens of other DTM blends, Sweet Vanilla Honey Dew being the most popular. With the additional Burley and Black Cavendish basis, this turns out to be even closer to MA Perfect Blend (golden tin) – same aroma nonetheless.
I could not taste tobacco while I smoked it, but there were hints of Burley in the aftertaste. Is with a lot of Dan Tobaccos I get that soda kind of tickle in my mouth, in this case resulting in an unpleasant bite. It gets smoother in the second half of the bowl if you are willing to wait for that.
Only when I use a seriously clogging charcoal filter and restrict myself to very slow puffing, it becomes bearable. I like the aroma per se, but for the price of a Dunhill blend that’s simply not enough. Good thing I resisted to buy the 100g tin for its beauty, when I have trouble finishing my 50g.

This tobacco is very similar to Virginia Honeydew, exept that it's even milder.
The tin note is sweet, but seems a little artificial like custard powder. The ribbon cut can easiliy be packed into your bowl and lit.
The taste is sweetish but extremely mild, almost like puffing steam with a subtle vanilla flavoring. There's no tobacco taste at all. I found this a boring smoke. On the pro side, there's no tongue bite. It burns down evenly without paying much attention, leaving greying ash and maybe some moisture.
At least the room note is pleasant.

I don't know which is more of a joke, this blend or its name. There is nothing Royal about this. It is so flat and weak. Worst of the Bentley lot. Honestly there isn't anything to stay about it. Just stay away feom it.

Bentley - The Royal Vanilla. I'm going to stand out from the other reviewers as I quite enjoy this blend!
I can't really get any of the natural tobacco flavours, I only really get a false and creamy vanilla taste. Although the added flavour seems pretty strong it's not too heavy, sticky or gloopy, it comes across as a clean vanilla flavour.
There isn't much nicotine to be had from this, it definitely wouldn't satisfy a nicotine smoker.
Even though I enjoy Royal Vanilla somewhat an area that I find displeasing is the warmth of the smoke. I have to sip this gently to get the most pleasure from it, any harsh puffs cause me some discomfort with the heat which is coupled with some bite.
The room note isn't too full, it has a good vanilla touch without being too much.
I must admit I enjoy Royal Vanilla but due to the temperature and a little bite I can only somewhat recommend it.
