Dark brown tobacco leaf mixed with some bright elements. The quality appears to meet the price tag in the lower segment. Upon opening the tin you are greeted by the often described musty Planta smell and that is the first taste when smoked as well.
After a quarter of the bowl the musty, moist cellar note becomes less intense. In addition I taste some molasses type sweetness together with some roasted notes. Instead of tobacco Cutty Sark tastes more like old books to me, which can be quite intriguing, but not so much here. Handling and burn are excellent and the tin art is decorative as well.
Aging doesn't seem to do anything to this mixture, neither good nor bad.
