The nutty, earthy burley, the grassy, citrusy Virginia and the sugary black cavendish work well together, though the vanilla topping does sublimate the tobaccos a bit. The vanilla has a little richness. Has virtually no nicotine, Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a smooth, lightly creamy, consistent flavor from start to finish. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires a tad more than an average number of relights. Has a very pleasant after taste. Can be an all day smoke or a mixer.

Looking for a bargain? This is it. This blend has a wonderful flavor. It has that deep-roasty-toasty Black Cav flavor with the vanilla riding on top. The vanilla starts mild to medium and fades to mild as the bowl progresses. There's a wonderful sweetness as well. The Virginias and Burleys are minor players in the flavor, but may be used here to aid in burning and cooling. This is a really nice smoke. I'd almost give this 4 stars on it's own. When you factor in that you can get 9 ounces for $8.99 this shoots up to 4 real quick.
Mild in body. Flavor is mild to medium. Flavoring is mild to medium fading to mild. Usually have to light it twice but requires no re-lights after that. Ready to smoke out of the pouch or bag.

As with the Cherry Cavendish this is my first try of Vanilla Aromatic. This blend has a mild topping of Vanilla that tastes great. It is a consistent blend throughout the bowl and would be great for those who like a mild vanilla all day smoke. I can see me buying more pouches (especially under $5 a pouch). I think this blend is a winner and I can see me putting more Aro's into my rotation and cellar. Would also be a great mixer with stronger flavourless tobacco's such as rope's for a later day smoke.

The pouch aroma is wonderful. I get a nice flavor when I exhale through the snork. Stronger flavor than Captain Black Gold, at roughly one third the price. Virginia Gold tobaccos are sold OTC at Rite Aid, and online at pipes and cigars.com. CT is a tax heavy state. A nine ounce bag costs $17.99 @ Rite Aid. Pipes and cigars gets $8.99. A buck an ounce, how can you beat that ? I smoke this stuff at work on my breaks. At this price, I have no guilt about knocking out any unburnt tobacco when it's time to return to work. At this price, I'll try the other Virginia Gold blends that come in a 1.5 ounce pouch. Given the similar low cost, I'll probably also try the Admirals Choice blends sold by Pipes and Cigars.com. Pretty good about staying lit, minimal relights. Minor tongue bite experienced by this fierce puffer. UPDATE: After going through a nine ounce bag, I realized that this isn't as economical as you might first think. Reason ? It burns very fast. Buy yourself the 1.5 ounce pouch and try it. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised. Bystander approved. The price makes this a four star blend.

This is a very smooth blend with just a hint of vanilla and a mild undertone that does not bite. Also burns & lights easily and does not leave a lot of lingering flavor in the bowl making it perfect if you have one pipe but want to smoke several blends without leaving leftover flavor that would interfere with the other blends. I like all Virginia Gold blends but the Black Cavendish is my favorite while this vanilla blend is a very worthy second.

This is a very nice smoke, especially for the price. Pack the bowl loosely to get the delightful vanilla flavor, a hint of caramel, along with the nutty Burley to come out. Packed tighter and the flavor gets lost. The flavor fades about the middle of the bowl, but does continue to the end. This tobacco worked best when smoked slowly. Pushed harder it felt harsh on the tongue and the tobaccos take over. Pouch note was very pleasant. Room note was light and pleasant. It was't as tasty in a corn cob as in 3 different briars. Not sure why. Did not ghost any pipe. Moisture about perfect out of the bag. Very slight dampness left in bowl. Good all day smoke. 3 stars (B-)

I did not care for this blend, The tobacco had stems in the mix. The casing started out weak and got weaker as the bowl burned. That might not be a bad thing, but the lack of character of the tobacco demands a strong casing. I smoked three bowls and tossed the rest out. There are better value tobaccos available.
