The various Virginias are tangy dark fruit, citrusy sweet with a little earthiness. No grassy notes applied. The flavors include figs, apricots, and dates consistently without tasting like a fruitcake. The famous McCelland "vinegar" hit pops up just a little at first, and only occasionally the rest of the way. The sweetness is moderate. Not a complex blend nor does it have a lot of punch or nicotine, but it makes up for all of that with a smooth taste that never diminishes with a pleasing after taste. An all day smoke that burns very cool with no harsh spots, no bite and leaves very little dampness in the bowl. Needs an average number of relights. Though it may leave an experienced smoker wanting more if they prefer stronger products, it is a nice change of pace from those meatier mixtures, and a good introduction to McClelland blends. is an all day smoke.
