Carey's - Spritzer.
I bought this as part of a 5 gram sample pack from Carey's and having smoked the ones that I found the most appealing I am left with the aromatics like this one, peach, cherry etc. I really didn't know what to expect at first, bear in mind that I am not particularly an aromatic kind of guy but after smoking this for a while I found myself enjoying it!
The aromatic side comes through in quite a delicate fashion, it's not too heavy, sickly, or sweet. There is a wonderful fruitiness to it of the citrus kind, almost lemony. This works brilliantly alongside the champagne addition. It also gives one of the most formidable grassy Virginia notes I have had, it should be called a 'grass' aromatic as that is the most prevalent of the flavours! This gives a decent 'N' kick too, it's not in the same league as G.H Happy/Brown Bogie but it is more than easy to recognize. The burn is good, it can be smoked with just a few touches of the flame to maintain it throughout. A low point lies with bite, it doesn't bite much if slowly sipped but when I take a vigorous puff tongue bite makes it's presence known! The temperature of the smoke only becomes too warm when it's raucously puffed, again like bite if it's sipped it's quite comfortable.
This is a pleasant enough smoke but the flavour is a little cramped/messy. It lacks the quality to achieve four stars but it is good enough to secure three stars!
