Carey's - Soft Black Aromatic.
Having smoked their Highland Fling yesterday which I found rather abrasive I was in the mood for something a lot calmer and the word 'soft' drew me towards this!
The taste really meets what the name implies, it really is a soft relaxing blend! Upon the initial aroma of the blend it is easy to pick out the sweet additions to it, the honey comes through the heaviest. With the taste it is again the honey that takes the lead position, it isn't at all 'gloopy' but it is can definitely be identified as honey rather than some nondescript sweetness that can often be the situation when a blend says it contains honey. The nicotine is again 'soft', this REALLY would suit a taste only smoker! I don't have to keep re-lighting this, in fact it gives an incredible burn right from the initial igniting. The flavour of the smoke is consistent all the way along, there is no fluctuation but it stays at the same volume from beginning to end. The temperature of the smoke is brilliantly cool, that combined with no tongue bite means I can smoke all day long without discomfort! At the end of the smoke there is only a very minimal dottle left in the bowl, it has given a superb burn throughout. The room note from Soft Black is wonderful, it's quite a full/sweet one that may be too strong for company.
I said at the start that due to yesterdays smoke not suiting me the word 'soft' in the title attracted me and I am so glad I picked this! The name is bang on and if you fancy a relaxing late night smoke then I think this is the one!
