Villiger Weber Aromatischer Teetabak
(3.00)
From Synjeco's website: This is a truly well made flavored blend. The pouch aroma is delicious, and yet not too artificial or overly sweet. Upon lighting there is a whiff of bitterness that disappears in a few seconds and get replaced by some exquisite sweetness and spiciness. I would say it's a blend that can be truly enjoyed by people who smoke natural or flavored tobaccos.

This is a Villiger blend for the Swiss market sold in some convenience stores alongside a few more familiar pouch tobaccos such as Mac Barens Mixture. A short shag cut - suggesting a cigarette rolling tobacco and could be so used - that is mostly Burley, said to be Swiss grown and quality leaf. A very well behaved mildly nutty and very slightly sweet smoke. Suggested to me a very simple Dutch cavendish. I didn’t find any aromatic taste but there is a light, pleasant pouch and room note. There is no PG here,it was dry in the pouch and needed some moisture. Quite well done.

I didn't really get much of a spice note as the description claims. I did get a very smooth, nutty with a little molasses and brown sugar burley based blend. The Virginia is naturally citrus sweet with a few grass notes, and is lightly less obvious than the burley. I don't know what the topping is, but it's a Dutch liquor that nicely compliments the tobacco without taking over. The sweetness is almost medium level with a mild nic-hit. Think of it as an American OTC, and you'll understand the flavors as they are meant to be. The flavors are very consistent all the way to the finish. Burns well and needs a little hydration straight out of the pouch. That slows the burn rate a little. No bite, burns clean and cool with very little moisture left in the bowl if it is lightly hydrated. Hardly needs a relight. Has a pleasant, short lived after taste and room note. An all day smoke.
