GQ Tobaccos Blenders Special
(2.00)
Every tobacco manufacturer has one - call it Pensioners Mix, El Cheapo, Frankenstein Mixture- they are all the same. The leftovers from packaging batches, blends which have been incorrectly mixed, and our "Blenders Special" is no different. This tobacco is a little bit of everything, sometimes when we weigh out 10 gram samples we end up with grams left over. These are added to the tobacco and mixed in. You can have literally a different taste with every bowl and makes for an interesting all day smoke.

GQ Tobaccos - Blenders Special.
I guess because of the nature of this blend everyone's review will differ! OK then, mine contains a lot of broken flake pieces with a slight perfume aroma to it. It was all a little too moist from the pouch so I gave it a small airing period.
Once it I ascertain that mine contains no Latakia, Black Cav' or Perique, the tobacco taste that comes through the most prominent is Burley. Second in line is your standard Virginia grass tone, but a lot less formidable. Like the smell from the mix there is a gentle aromatic flavour, not fruit, chocolate or vanilla but floral, this is also reflected in the note so I suspect that this batch contains some of his Swamp Flower! This one holds a medium amount of 'N', but they will all vary on that depending on which blends have been used!
Grading this one is a little difficult, this particular one would only get two but I score it an overall three as I think it earns that for the excitement factor of not knowing what you will get and as he sells these in ten gram samples it can be tried for very little money!

The pouch note tells you this is something ... different. The smell of pot pourri and those toilet disinfectant blocks in public urinals. Lighting it up, the taste is of sour lemon zest, pine, wintergreen oil, and soapy perfume. Resisting the temptation to throw the pouch in the bin and sticking with it, about halfway through the bowl, I can make out a mixture of rich Latakia, soapy floral Lakeland, Perique, with woody oak & pine. Not a blend I will buy again.
