Picayune Pancake was whipped up in the kitchen with Toasted Cavendish mixed with a variety of Virginias with cased and natural sweetness to combine for a rich but complex smoking experience. Flavorful with a pleasant room note while still kind to the mouth.
Notes: This blend was formerly named Second Breakfast as part of Country Squire's Middle Earth series.
Founded by Jim and Gwen Reeves in August of 1970, The Country Squire has been a Mississippi fixture and mainstay for over 40 years. As Mississippi's oldest tobacconist, we feature over 20 unique and interesting house pipe tobacco blends. Released 2013.

Disclaimer I’m not an aromatic smoker.
The tin note is a little sweet it’s a velvety quality to it like vanilla with out the vinilla scent.
Mild in flavor on the palette. Has almost a wet fresh raw unbaked bread quality to it.
Just a faint sweetness.

The flavoring on this one is delicious, especially the maple. It's a thick flavor that covers the smoke and reaches every corner of your mouth. It does seem to me at times during the smoke that the flavor is being carried on hot air. I mixed in a little haunted bookshop and it was my favorite aromatic smoking experience to date. I ended up dumping the last bit of my haunted bookshop into what was left of my half pound bag and I just finished the last bowl. I recommend that you get this and you'll probably love it, but if you don't just customize it too your palate. The tobacco and flavoring is of high quality and worth the time.

Well, I spent the weekend comparing six blends that use maple flavoring. What did you do? Okay, since you’re not gonna fess up, let me tell you how I survived the sugar overload . . .
First round was kind of fun, but by the second round in different pipes, I had kind of had enough of the sweet aros. I like a good aro maybe once a week on Sunday morning, so it’s really gotta be good, and have some lasting power in the jar as it might take upwards of six months to finish a couple ounces. Second Breakfast is not one that will have a permanent place of honor in my rotation, simply because there are others that I enjoy more.
To know whether you will have the same shrug-of-the-shoulders reaction that I had, or have a reaction more in line with some of the other glowing reviews here, you should probably decide beforehand whether you want a really full-blown aromatic with a lot of character, or something more mellow and toned down that you can just load a pipe and let your mind wander. Lots of blends out there for either type of smoker. I’m not talking about semi-aromatics here, where you can still discern the underlying natural tobacco tastes, I’m talking about a sweet blend (with little or no discernable natural tastes) that is just very relaxed and merely suggests flavors rather than shout and waves its arms. This is the relaxed style of aromatic, or what I’d describe as bland.
Nothing wrong here, just in comparison to aromatics with more personality like Choctaw or 4Noggins Thomas, both of which I gave three stars reviews, this has to be rated lower. I wish we could do half star ratings as this would be a 2.5, and Choctaw would be a 3.5, but this is what we have.
Oh, review? Soft, smooth, comforting. Flavors of pancakes and just a teasing few drops of maple syrup, maybe a couple of specks of nutmeg. Winner of the smack down? Autumn Evening. Lots of flavor in that one!
