This one is produced in Germany and reminds me of a "Dan's" product, good, but the quality is really not there. It is a light Latakia blend that leans more to the bitter/sour taste than a sweet Virginia. I feel that the Orientals TRY to play the major roll but they just don't jump out and have a tendency to get ashy.
I just finished some of Dan's Mellow Mallard ( recent review ) and I get that same ashy, lack of body. I didn't like that and I don't think this is worth a second chance, just no interesting moments.
Taste wise, it is similar to Dunhill's London Mixture , but not close to the quality .

What a pleasant smoke. This American market version of Brigham's Mr. B's D-Series, “Rise and Shine,” is a mild and mellow blend in the style of Dunhill's “Early Morning Pipe.” I got my tin from Brian Levine, the genial host of the PipesMagazine.com Radio Show. In a post, Brian said that the product available now (Summer of 2013) “has been in the tin for over two years and stored in our climate controlled building. You can consider it ‘pre-aged.'” The tin aroma is sweet and spicy, a lovely balance of Virginias, Orientals and Latakia. Just a touch of moisture, that doesn't seem to effect the easy burning from char to bowl bottom. Lots of smoke; a nice sweet tang from the Virginias, and a mellowness from the Orientals. The Latakia, while not overpowering, rests well at the back of the tongue. There is no moist dottle, and it only bites if you puff like a locomotive. I think that some folk mistake “bite” in good tobaccos, for the effect that the tang of quality Virginias impart to the restive, Casey Jones puffer. I like this tobacco. My wife and daughter and grandkids say it smells pleasant. What more can you ask of a tobacco?

Very light and mild soft smoke. Discreet latakia. The other orientals don't seem to know why they are there and what they should do. They merge in resiny puffs that sometimes recall incense. I love english blends, but this one lacks a solid base for the orientals to build upon. It's like the blend don't know where it's going.
I have never smoked EMP, so I can't compare.

Pleasant, smooth, light Latakia blend. Some interesting tangy notes. As a Latakia-phobe, my only knock on the blend is that the tin description does not specify the presence of Latakia; so I got suckered into spending $10 on a tin I would otherwise have avoided.

This is a light tobacco for me. Goes well with coffee on cool mornings. Good solid smoke. I bought it because it has oriental tobacco in it and that's what I was after. It does have latakia in it and is like a light version of Old Dublin.

This tobacco is FANTASTIC. Not only does it cover the ground that is so wonderfully covered by EMP, but its extends further. Sweeter and richer taste as well as the perfect amount of zest (not spicey) and that wheaty hay-like flavor. This tobacco for me is Better than EMP (how dare he) and is a bummer its not more accessible. Easy smoke perfect for a breakfast blend cup of coffee. Very light but nothing better to wake up the palette with first thing in the morning. Cheers!
