Opening the pocket (I didn't buy a tin) gave me a surprisingly pleasant smell of cherry. A pretty crisp cherry smell, unlike other cherry tobaccos I tried.
The ribbon cut tobacco was packed in my Gigi Futura pipe. Easy to pack, easily lit. First puff gave a nice smooth Black Cavendish/Virginia blend with a sweet cherry note. The cherry taste developed trough the whole smoke down to the end. I might have wanted it to be a little heavier on the cherrytaste, I am a sweet tooth and like my "candy-tobaccos" but in all I think this might be one of the best, or maybe the best, cherry aromatics I tried so far.

The grassy, citrusy Virginia plays a support role to the toasty, lightly sugary black cavendish. The slightly creamy, delicate cherry topping mostly sublimates the tobaccos, although it suffers from lack of flavor depth. Has no artificial or chemical notes, and won’t bite or get harsh. The taste level is a step past the mild level. Hardly has any nicotine. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a consistent, but routine taste for a cherry blend. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasant, weak after taste. An all day smoke.

I like cherry blends and this is one of the best I have tried. The cherry flavor is very natural and the smell is incredible. The aftertaste this blend gives is pleasant and leaves a sweet cherry taste. I think this is mostly Cavendish (which I also love). Great easy smoke when you want something flavored for a change.

I have smoked two other cherry blends so far. One being McClintock black cherry and Mac Barons cherry Ambrosia. Stanwell cherry is the best one that I have smoked so far. Not much to the blend, just good cherry flavors. The tin note is great and the room note is stellar. Smoke this one in public and the women will flock to you. In the pipe it is smooth with no tongue bite. The taste is delightful cherrys. Not a chemical taste but a nice light cherry flavor. This one is a keeper.

Upon opening the pouch, I am met with a pleasantly sweet Aroma which is a mixture of the cherry flavoring and the cavendish. The cut is a rough ribbon, the black cavendish is the dominant leaf, with some golden strands of Virginia mixed in. The moisture content is just right for packing and lighting. Two matches should do the trick. The cherry flavor is very creamy and immediately noticable without being overpowering. The Virginia adds just the right amount of smokiness to the taste. This pleasant taste remains present throughout the smoke, and the tobacco burns down to a fine grey ash, leaving no dottle. The room note is a crowd pleaser, a pleasant, sweet aroma of cherry. I smoked this while out on a windy day, which did cause the bowl to go hot on me, resulting in a bit of "tobacco Juice". But this had more to do with the conditions than with the tobacco itself. Recommendation: This is a very nice aromatic for everyday use. The cherry flavoring is pleasing and stays that way throughout the smoke (which is not typical of many other cherry flavored blends). If you are not an aromatic fan, do not smoke this, as you will not like it. If you enjoy aromatics, then this is definitely one to add to your rotation. It is not a complex smoke, so it has nothing to challenge the connoisseur's palate. But it does offer a solid, tasty smoke to both novice and expert alike.
Note: Both Stanwell and MacBaren have reduced the pouch content to 40g rather than the usual 50g, selling, of course, for the same price as the 50g. This is rather unfortunate, and I felt a bit duped when I noticed this fact!

Bought this one in Germany because I didn't realize that "Ruby" meant Cherry.. since they can't put the names of flavors on their tobacco (which is stupid by the way). Upon opening the peanut tin I was greeted with a false scent of Cherry, reminding me of candies or perhaps Luden's Cough Drops. The smoking was not much better with the flavor being translated exactly to the smoke. It smokes OK and maybe if you like cherry this would be your thing but it just tastes too fake for me. The room note is good but the flavor is just not.
for a Cherry I think Dobie's 4Square Red is better.

I have been searching for a cherry blend I truly like....this is good, but has not made me just and cheer. It has burned hot at times and has produced a gurgle each time I have smoked it. Flavor is mild on cherry volume.

If you like cherry flavored tobaccos, then your probably going to love this blend. For what it is, it is probably the best cherry blend available on the market. The tobacco is of good quality and I would not call this a goopy aromatic as the moisture level in the tin was just about right and the topping is not a sticky, thick, or a syrupy mess. Overall, the tobacco has a great cherry flavor that remains consistent throughout the entire smoke. I would recommend this to any aromatic fan or lovers of cherry.
