Smoked like an organic, more robust Captain Black, the same nice flavor and simple goodness, but with more body and no sacchariney bitterness.
I bought the tobacco from The Owl Shop. As always, the staff were extremely nice. The tobacco was broad cut and dark black with flecks of dark brown, like well-mulched leaves. The moisture content as sold at the counter was moist, and it needed to be dried..
Tin note was all toffee-chocolatey goodness. The broad cut leafs packed and lit easily. The first half of the the bowl had no bite and stayed lit with minimal re-lighting. The smoke was warm and velvety, full of the aromas of nougat and caramel...I wanted to pour it over pancakes and eat it! As the smoke progressed, a rich raisineyness developed and stayed throughout the entire bowl. At the end of the bowl, a light black coffee taste, pleasantly bitter, unfolded. Though a sweet smoke, it had full body and provided a nice nicotine kick. It finished moist, with some gunky dottle at the bottom.
My GF described the room note as "pleasant".
Four stars, highly recommended for any aromatic aficionado!

I got this along with Black Magic and Mystique. After trying the Black Magic, which I adored, I tried the Cap'n and was surprised it wasn't an aromatic. It has a bright, almost sweet taste on mu lips when I'm done and felt more flavorful than I'd expected. I wish I had a rum-flavored aromatic to toss with it. I honestly might try a sampling of this and some plumcake because it was a great ride from a great spot I just happened to be working at nearby for Yale. Turns out there's quite a few Union members who also enjoy this place. I wish I'd had more time, because this would've been great with a white rum drink. Full stars and full steam ahead.
