Kohlhase, Kopp und Co. KG Ser Jacopo Scottish Mixture

(3.00)
This mixture is based on the orange and red Virginia, with a small addition latakia, combined with Oriental tobacco. A pinch of especially spicy perique emphasizes full flavor of this tobacco. And the delicate taste of scotch whisky create a pleasant aftertaste.

Ser Jacopo founder Giancarlo Guidi had K&K produce an English, an aromatic and a Scottish style triumvirate touting the Ser Jacopo name. I picked up all three of them from Iwan Ries in 2001 and Scottish Mixture was very similar to their English. It boasted Latakia and Virginia and had a whiskey casing but there was a lot of Oriental leaf in this one that made it somewhat more exciting to smoke as the Orientals added a little cool spice to perk up the overall presentation. An overall mild smoke and according to my notes from back then, I gave this blend a 7 out of 10.

Not bad, but not the ideal. Good tobacco for good price. Daily tobacco for me.
