E. A. Carey American Pie Pipe Tobacco

(3.50)
A new unique blend inspired by American tobacco traditions. An aromatic blend of black and golden tobaccos. A soft and exceptionally mellow smoke. Sweet with fruity edge. Delightful aromatic taste... a true pleasure journey. Air cured burley, black cavendish & Virginia. Ribbon cut.

I had to try this mild aromatic in one of my very few upscale pipes, i.e. Peterson or Savinelli, after swabbing with a little bowl sweetner. It cracked the code. This tobac has a gentle yet distinct taste, satisfying mouth feel and delicate aroma. Not as memorable, mind you, as E.A. Carey's Mediterranean blend which as a confirmed aro lover I'd put in the four star (****) category. Truth be told most every Carey blend I've tried in the last couple of years rates elevated scores. At a loss as to why there are so few commentaries by tobaccoreviews.com scribes for these house blends which for my take are woefully underrated or just plain ignored.

EA Carey's American Pie blend is a cousin of EA Carey's Mediterranean blend, the difference is that it has "fruity" hints. It lights well and smokes to the "bottom-of-the-bowl", and the women like the "Room-Notes". This blend along with Black Cherry Supreme, are "easy" on the "pocket-book". I Highly Recommend this blend.
