Telford's Pipes & Cigars Nob Hill
(4.00)
Scottish Blend. A spicy blend of aged Virginias, Turkish, Burley and Maryland tobaccos. The blend has aroma associated with English-type mixtures. It is not an aromatic with artificially sweetened tobaccos, so it suits many smokers who want more flavor than aroma but are trying to get away from the heavier Latakia blends.

Nob Hill is a very sweet blend. Some would put it in the light aromatic category on the basis of its aroma alone: honey, dried figs, and Virginia tobaccos, but sweeter than one would expect just from tobacco.
The cut is excellent and makes it easy to fill your pipe.
Despite the very strong top note or aroma in the jar, the only thing that comes through in the smoke is a natural, strong, tobacco flavor. It is a very sweet smoke, but I think the sweetness is all from the tobacco. The result is a sweet but pure tobacco experience for the smoker, and an even sweeter room note with honey and dried figs for the bystanders. And it is a real crowd pleaser! I always get compliments from the nonsmokers when this is in the pipe.
It is a slow smoke and lasts a long time. It is never wet, and it never bites. A very forgiving tobacco, great for beginners.
Note that there is no Latakia, no Perique, and the Turkish is applied very lightly. Nob Hill is mild enough for the novice, and flavorful enough for the veteran pipe smoker.
If you like full, sweet tobacco, and lots of compliments from the nonsmoking crowd, get some Nob Hill.

I can't really add more than what is said in the previous review. Other than that I find this blend to be an off dry mixture - meaning to me it's semi sweet. There is no casing so what you get is a a natural tobacco taste.
A very satisfying smoke and one I would definitely recommend to others.
