Wonderful vanilla aroma, neatly cut, a delight to anyone with a hankering for vanilla. Even a delight for non-smokers.

The black cavendish has a smooth vanilla taste. It is enhanced by the vanilla topping, though I thought it lacked a little depth of flavor. Has no nicotine to speak of. Burns at a moderate pace, cool and clean. Won’t bite. Needs a few relights because it’s a little moist, and will leave moisture in the bowl. Has a nice after taste and room note.

Not good. Artificial fake pg soaked and flavor less. Sure hope this isnt high quality tobacco. Captain black royal is twice as good. This is unsmokeable to me. Waste of what little money I do have.. Wish I had anything good to say about it.

My 'main smoke' has included Tinder Box Black Cav for years. However, I blend this with another Tinder Box product--Sherlock's Choice. I find the two blend nicely--but you have to really mix them well. The stickiness of the Black Cav can sometimes make that a pain. Anyway, the mildness of the Black Cav is it's strong point. I find it best used as a 'mix' tobacco to bring that mildness to a more flavorful but stronger tobacco.

This looks, tastes, and smells similar to Lane's "BCA" blend of black cavendish. Can it be? Anyway, it does smell very nice in the pouch, it has a very pleasant room note, produces huge clouds of fragrant smoke, doesn't bite, but doesn't have much flavor either. Make sure you let it dry out on a plate for at least a day if you don't want to go through a box of matches keeping it lit. If you enjoy a bland, almost flavorless smoke that smells good, this is for you.
On the other hand, it makes a great blending tobacco. Blend one-third Tinderbox Black Vanilla Cavendish (or Lane BCA) with two-thirds Tinderbox Wilshire (or Lane 1Q), and let it air dry out on a plate for at least 24 hours. Makes a delighful aromatic smoke. In the world of aromatics, you will not find a better blend than Lane 1Q+BCA, IMHO.

This is very similar to McClelland's Black Vanilla Cavendish. If it's just repackaged for Tinderbox, that's fine, it's good stuff.
