I had read somewhere that Edward's was discontinuing tobacco sales, whether this is true or not I figured it was a good time to try some more of their blends just in case.. I had already tried Buccaneer and really like their Honey Bucc blend. In this case Scottish Bucc tasted to me like a Black and Burley blend, Buccaneer kicked up a notch. I like Edward's blends bc the aromatic taste and aroma's are added by using essences that do not come in contact with the tobacco. This eliminates sludge, tongue bite and all the other unpleasantness that aromatics get a bad rap for. The black Cavendish (Buccaneer) used in Scottish Bucc gives the burley a smooth and mild taste and I do think their BC is one of the best I have tried. I prefer Honey Bucc to Scottish Bucc but this is an enjoyable smoke that newbies should try after they get tired of the plain Buccaneer blend since the Burleys really amp that blend up.

The 1960s meets the 1970s. Scottish Moor is the classic 1960s era American burley blend with a hint of aromatic essence. Buccaneer is the classic 1970s era black cavendish, only far superior to the junk that is packaged in those foil packs that can sit on a convenience store shelf for a decade.
I learned to smoke a pipe from my father and this is the type of tobacco he loved. While I am generally an English smoker, I nevertheless enjoy this type of blend for what it is - pure Americana. This is the type of tobacco that was smoked when pipe smoking was at its absolute zenith.
Try this tobacco if you enjoy taking a trip down memory lane or enjoy classic American blends. If, instead, you are the type that prefers the many (perhaps too many) "small batch" blends that are currently in fashion, then stay away from this blend.
