Planta Sans Souci/Sans Souci Majestic Mixture
(2.62)
Epitome of a fine, exclusive mixture. The noble aroma exudes elegance and finesse. Comprised of bright high quality Virginia tobaccos of light strength, refined with ripe, dark black cavendish. Captivates by its gentle mildness, with tender fruity flavour.
Notes: When sold in the bulk form, the name is only Sans Souci, but in the red pouch bears the label "Sans Souci Majestic Mixture".

This was the very first tobacco I bought when beginning pipe smoking, as recommended by the only local vendor I could find. The guy was mainly selling 9mm filter pipes, but hey, at some point you have to begin somewhere, so this was it.
Opening the pouch was a real pleasure, with those mixed aromas of dried fruits and caramel, and nice looking tobacco strands of various colors. Did not bite much, produced some smoke, was relatively forgiving to beginner's errors, and the toppings made the novice smoker happy.
Now ten years after, I'm pretty sure that this blend should appeal to aromatic fans, due to the rich fruits and caramel flavours, mild strength and good quality leaves. Could burn a little hot, but I've encountered much worse than this one.
It took me 3 or 4 other aros to try before entering the world of pure VA and english blends, and I have to admit that this one was the nicest. An overall pleasing aro.

The tart and tangy citrusy, mildly grassy Virginias are the base of the blend, and the nutty, earthy, woody, lightly spicy and molasses sweet burley competes for attention, and at times surpasses the Virginias. The very sugary black cavendish provides ample support. A multitude of rich and sweet toppings are the star attraction. I notice peach and apricot the most (in that order), and some kind of citrus in a lesser amount. The caramel is between a condiment and a supporting player. The bourbon is way in the background, and one of the toppings has a minor spice note. The strength is a step past the mild to medium level, and the taste just reaches the medium mark. The nic-hit is a couple degrees past mild. Won’t bite, but burns a little warm. Has no harshness or dull moments. Burns clean at a moderate pace with mostly well balanced, consistent flavor all the way to the finish. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. The after taste and room notes pleasantly linger a little. An all day smoke that has some depth.

Excellent tobacco for people who like a mild tobaccos with a nice fruity overlay of apricots and peaches that develop jam like and creamy properties.
This is my 'go to' aromatic at the moment because its just so agreeable.

Planta - Sans Souci/Sans Souci Majestic Mixture.
I fancied something different this morning so opened this. To me, the name Sans Souci has no implications with anything, and as my search on google only came back with 'French for carefree' I was no clearer! But, on I went.
The description says Ribbon but it's actually a mixture containing a fair few big pieces. This was supplied in bulk from Smokingpipes.com so the moisture of a tin or pouch is a moot point, to me. This, however, arrived a little dry. The mix smells fruity and aromatic.
The apricots, caramel, and sweet/sugar amalgamate to form a flavour reminiscent of apricot conserve, and this leads in the smoke. There's only a touch of alcohol and I get no coffee whatsoever; coffee, as per current description. The tobaccos give prominently a VaBur flavour, sweetened with black Cavendish. I get a spot of bite from it and it burns too warm.
Nicotine: just above medium. Room-note: nice.
Not my idea of a good aromatic. Two stars:
Somewhat recommended.

This is a Good tobacco, your tin is so beautiful... but I had more expectations about it... in your favor i can say: is a High Quality tobacco for the all day. Here in Brazil is a very expensive, in this case I shouldn't buy more, unfortunately, but if I earn a tin I will stay so glad. the tobacco are really beauty, smells so good and room note are pleasant. important to say if you dont smoke slowly, this tobacco tends a burn quickly (and your hand too). I recommend this blend for that smokers who likes the aromatics.

This blend comes in a fancy tin...not my cup o´tea...but who cares anyway. The tobacco is easy to smoke, has a nice roomnote and just tastes mild and sweet. There is not much to say about it anymore. Not bad but nothing special either...a little more full bodied than other cheap aros...that´s it. Recomended for everyday smoke if you like sweet and descreet mixtures.

Ribbons of good quality golden, light Virginia and Dark Black Cavendish. Strong, Heavily Fruity and Caramel flavour and taste, both, together. !m surprised with this Blend,so different flavour and taste. Very Good stuff. Planta produced very good Blends, as Cellini, Presbyterian, Exotic Mixture, Jacaranda etc... This is not a exception. 4 stars

When they brought it to me, first of all I was impressed with the box and secondly I was impressed by the natural caramel flavor that the tobacco had.
I took a glass of whisky and opened the box to enjoy it.
Disappointment.
It burned my tongue, no taste, very sharp and liquid in the bowl.

This is the third of Dan Tobacco`s aromatics I was gifted. I have reviewed Blue Note and Da Vinci already. There is a family resemblance between the three. Just as Mac Baren has a signature honey on toast note, Dan Tobacco has a signature berry, sweet-and-sour note. This note is at its strongest in Majestic Mixture. You either like it or not.
What saves all three aromatics is the quality of the virginia in them. The virginias never give up, and there is always a passable level of nicotine. The tobaccos are dry in the packing and burn well. As a precautionary measure I smoked them all in cobs, and cobs are forgiving. I would not buy any of these blends on my own, but if given them, would probably not recycle them either.
