I had the opportunity to stop by this shop in Florence, Kentucky on my vacation a few weeks ago after seeing a review of the store on YouTube from Muttonchop Piper. I looked at their house blends and decided to try an ounce of the Kentucky Gentleman. This week I have enjoyed smoking this blend on my way to work, and it has a good taste that is not too strong and gives off a nice amount of smoke. It burns well all the way to the bottom of the bowl without having to relight it. The smell out of the bag is very inviting and I have enjoyed this tobacco very much. I should have gotten a bigger bag of it!
Pipe Used:
Brebbia Sun Meerschaum lined pipe

This is one I wouldn't go back for again, it simply has a sour taste. I simply didn't enjoy it. However I am also not much of a whiskey drinker so this might appeal to someone who is. The smoke is very nice though, cool, someone medium bodied, and not over powering- however the hint of whiskey makes it a one time trial for me.

Although this tobacco packed and smoked well; it's sour whiskey taste just didn't appeal to me.
This tobacco had a nice texture and color.
If you lean towards the whiskey and/or wine tasting tobaccos; try this.

A bite from heck on this one, almost immediately. That said, one of the best bourbon notes I have tasted. Either way, it is too little, too late. This stuff burns to quick. Gentleman, it is not.

If you are not a Bourbon drinker, then this might not be for you. However, if you enjoy a nice bourbon smell and flavor, you'll immensely enjoy Kentucky Gentleman.
I'll admit, I don't keep an 8oz stock of this on hand as I don't smoke this blend to often, but when I'm in the mood for something with a bit of kick and different, that takes me back home, I head to Straus Tobacco for 3oz's of Kentucky Gentleman.
It's not to bitey and not harsh as some other bourbon/whiskey blends Ive had. It has a tiny bit of play though, which makes it a fun and enjoyable smoke for those special occasions.
I will say I do enjoy Kentucky Gentleman over any other blend bourbon/whiskey blends Ive had from other places, or even rum flavored at that.
Give it a try on a nice evening as the sun starts to set into nautical twilight and enjoy the old pleasures of the Bluegrass state.

Being a bourbon drinker, I enjoy this blend. There is a hint of whiskey, and it is very much enjoyable to me. Pour a glass of Knob Creek, pack the pipe full of this stuff, and simply relax.
