Ascorti Veneto
(3.33)
A delightful composition of best Virginias, burleys and black cavendish fermented for several days until they reach their magnificent black coloring. Enriched with a small touch of Virginia leaves, this mixture gives an extremely mild and slightly sweetish taste.

I was recently sent the entire Ascorti line of tobacco and Veneto was my first choice. I like a good aromatic that is sweet as an evening smoke and I smoked a couple of back to back bowls of this one as the flavor was there and the heavy on the palate taste was not. I must admit that if I were strictly a non-aromatic smoker, this is not something I would enjoy. Lots of various artificial flavors that were sweet came through, but not much true tobacco flavor. It was sort of like smoking Vanilla and sweet white wine.

The tin content will suprise you with a wild cut: you will find big chunks of tobacco, some with stem remains. The leafs colors goes from very dark to golden tones. Sweet cavendish aroma comes from the tin, and I perceived also subtle vainilla tones.
Ths tobacco comes slightly moist, but some tobacco pieces are so big that an aditional cut is requiered. This is different but not necessarily bad.
This is an aromatic tobacco all the way. Nice evolving taste, courtesy of the virginias on the mixture. If you are into non-cased aromatics, this is a very interesting candidate.
