A fascinating blend containing Latakia, Smyrna, Red Cavendish, Black Cavendish, Turkish Ribbon, and a dash of Perique. A VaPerOr dance with nuanced yet mild flavors to sit back and reflect.

Kilmallock from Emerson Southern Forged This is a very mild English blend with a bit of Perique. A bit of Latakia, Smyrna, Red Cavendish, Black Cavendish, Turkish Ribbon, and a dash of Perique. A VaPerOr dance with nuanced yet mild flavors to sit back and reflect. The Latakia does not take center stage but you know it’s there with its smokiness. The oriental leaf adds spice. The Perique feels minimal but there is some sour raisin that actually works well with the Turkish. No possibility of bite. Burns easily. The overall impression is mildly pungent but there is virtually no aftertaste. In my view this is not as good as the ESF Thomas’ Blend (also mild) or Aberdeen (moderate or medium in strength). I’d put this blend into the starter English group with HH Latakia Flake or GLP’s Westminster - it’s approachable. But it is a a bit of a UN with all of the blend components. 3 out of 4 stars.
