ESF’s Connemara is an interesting Va/Per/Bur — of course no one ever knows what percentages of various tobaccos are present. I can taste the Virginias and the Burley — the former suggest hints of sweetness, the latter a woodsy and creamy textured mouthfeel. On top of these there is another dancer — maybe not one of the two in the main tango but swirling around the sidelines, and that is the spicy Perique. I don’t know the history of this blend — maybe Jim Steffey can weigh in at some point.

I’m not a huge fan of Perique and am of the opinion that a little can go a long way. I sense here there is more than a little. Not sure though.

There is a toasty Unami - ness to the blend. Stays lit. A bit of bite. 2.5 stars rounded to 3 out of 4.
