A straight Virginia blend containing three Red Virginias, Long Cut Virginia, Lemon Lead Virginia and Stoved Red Virginia. Not sweet but full of flavor. The stoving process helps cool down the tendency of Virginias (with higher natural sugar content) from burning too hot in the mouth.
Notes: ESF never includes sweetening agents unless they are specifically mentioned as an integral part of the blend or as an option; propylene glycol is not used as a carrier for flavoring agents. Strathaven from Emerson Southern Forged shows you what a boutique master blender can do with superb source tobaccos and a commitment not to use hidden casings to sweeten the natural. Here we have a close to perfect straight Virginia. Grassy, toasty, a bit of citrus, and a creaminess all stays from start to finish. There are three Red Virginias, Long Cut Virginia, Lemon leaf Virginia and Stoved Red Virginia. The stoving process helps cool down the tendency of Virginias (with higher natural sugar content) from burning too hot in the mouth. ESF never includes sweetening agents unless they are specifically mentioned as an integral part of the blend or as an option; propylene glycol is NOT utilized either. Jim Steffey is very open to custom blend requests as well. If you like a straight Virginia this is as good as one will get. 4 out of 4 stars.
