The perique offers lots of dried, sour plums, dried figs, tingly spice, earth, wood, and a little floralness as the lead component. The mix of aged red Virginias provide a wealth of tangy ripe dark fruit, tart citrus, bread, sugar, mild vegetative grass, floralness, spice, and very light acidic vinegar as close competitors. Due to the potency of the perique, this blend gets stronger by the half way point. The black currant casing very mildly tones down the tobaccos. Has a lot of strength. The taste is full. The nic-hit is potent. No chance of bite or harshness although fast puffing may result in a light tongue tingle due to the spice content. The rough edges are very light. Deeply rich, it burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a very consistent tartly, tangy fruity sweet and mildly sour, spicy, floral, lightly savory flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note is very pungent. Barely leaves any dampness in the bowl. Requires few relights. Not an all day smoke. I don’t recommend a big bowl. Three and a half stars rounded up to four stars.

The appearance is ribbon cut with various shades of browns. The pouch note for me is cocoa. As I smoked, I could taste the cocoa flavor. An unsweetened cocoa powder flavor in the background. The description on this site mentions blackcurrant but I didn't taste any blackcurrant or berry like flavors. I went to the KBV website and it didn't mention any kind of flavorings, just Virginia and Perique. So I don't know... it is what it is I guess. One thing is certain, there's definitely some kind of flavor added to this tobacco. I enjoy VaPers and for me the added flavoring ruined the natural tobbaco flavor. It doesn't taste like a VaPer and I can't recommend it. 0 stars rounded up to 1 because 0 isn't an option.
