The Saint James perique provides plenty of earth, wood, spice, dried tart plums, figs, vegetation, very mild floralness, sourness, and mesquite takes a light lead. The spicy, earthy, woody, vegetative, floral, dryly sour, herbal, incense-like, mildly buttery sweet, smoky Orientals closely competes with the perique for attention, and occasionally equals it. The matured Virginias offer plenty of tart and tangy citrus, vegetative grass, bread, sugar, some floralness, sour lemon, spice, and light acidity. They have a definite presence in the third slot. The strength is a couple of steps past the medium threshold. The taste is a notch past that mark. The nic-hit is a rung below the overall strength level. No chance of bite or harshness, and has minor rough edges. This deeply rich coarse cut blend burns cool, clean, and a tad slow with a mostly consistent spicy sweet and sour, fruity, floral, herbal, mildly smoky, savory, lightly acidic, punchy flavor that translates to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note has some pungency. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires a couple more than an average number of relights. Not an all day smoke, but it is repeatable. Three and a half stars rounded up to four.

This is a semi sweet smoke. The Orientals feel like they are ahead of the Periques in this blend. Mild to med nicotine.
A no tongue bite. A bit above average for relights.
Nice and smooth. I actually find it to be very pleasant to smoke.

I have favorite blends, but the fact is I can smoke almost anything and find something positive in it. Until now. This stuff is acrid, sour (not in a good way), unbalanced, and just plain awful. There is absolutely no flavor at all from the Virginias. I've subjected myself to four bowls, but I'm done. A huge swing-and-a-miss for Eric Stokkebye and C&D.

I am always impressed by Jiminks who always senses the interlay of various original tobaccos in a blend. Reminds me of people who review wine.
My simpler review is based on flavor. This tobacco is fine. Strength is medium. It burns nicely. For the life of me I don’t know why I bought it and am thankful I always get the smallest amount possible.
This is decent tobacco. Not much flavor. Room note is ambiguous. Nothing exciting. No element shines. Sometimes all you want is tobacco.

Strong, slightly rough in places, interesting flavor that smoothed out midway. The nic gently punched me in the head.

It is a VaPer, with some orientals added to the mix, and is a fairly strong blend in the taste department. It has a strong nasal burn on retrohale, and on the first third of the bowl it gives a mouth-filling sensation. It is grassy, spicy, full, tangy, and fragrant.
However, by the middle third, it settles down to a nice mellow Virginia flavor of sweetness, bread, and cereal.
This rich sweetness will last throughout the rest of bowl.
I like the creamy, buttery aroma I get when I gently blow into the stem to let a wisp of smoke out of the bowl.
It is easily becoming one of my favorites.
Lovers of VaPer should try this one.
