This is an outstanding new blend from Century. I always had them down as a bit of an aromatic farm, but this is an encouraging new direction for them. Excellent red virginias here with depth and flavour. Best sipped slowly to fully appreciate the taste, and burns evenly with few relight down to a fine ash. Not a hint of bite, and a real winner.

Century - Charleston Blockade.
This is some special stuff!
The slices are about 5mm thick, medium brown, perfectly hydrated. Crumbling is easy, I leave mine in a rather chunky consistency.
I hadn't finished my first bowl and I'd ordered more to cellar! It's so nice to have a red Va kake of this calibre available in the U.K. Fruity and tangy; this is the flavour. Ripe red fruit, not citrus. To be fair, at about 3/4 bowl the vibrancy abates, somewhat, and the smoke develops a slightly 'grainy' flavour; but this is still playing second fiddle to the fruit. The burn from it's great; reliable, giving a cool smoke.
Nicotine: on the mild side. Room-note: lovely.
Charleston Blockade: I guess it's no surprise this gets four stars:
Highly recommended.

One of my top 5 tobaccos. No tongue bite. Straight virginia. Smells of vinegar. Think it inverts sugar to reduce tongue bite.
