The smoky dark fired Kentucky provides a lot of earth, wood, vegetation, floralness, spice, some sourness, nuts, mild barbecue sweetness as the major component. The Virginia cavendish offers some tart and tangy citrus, vegetative grass, sugar, bread, floralness, sour lemon, mild spice and light acidity. It produces secondary support. The rich sweet and mildly sour, floral bourbon topping moderately tones down the tobaccos. It may also be responsible for some spice. The strength, nic-hit and taste levels are medium. Won’t get harsh, but it does sport a little roughness. The spice content is a tad high, but slow puffing should avoid tongue bite. Burns clean and a little warm at a reasonable rate with a very consistent sweet, spicy, fruity, smoky, mildly sour, slightly acidic flavor that extends to fairly pleasant, short lived after taste. The room note is tolerable. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Can be an all day smoke for the more experienced smoker. Three stars for the flavor two due to the potential tongue tingle and acidic note.
