The rather sweet, musty, incense-like, deeply rich African Latakia provides plenty of earth, wood, floralness, vegetation, herbs, light leather and some spice. The strength is a couple of steps past the center of medium to strong. The taste is full. The nic-hit is a notch below the overall strength level. There’s no chance of bite or harshness. Has a few rough edges as one would expect from pure Latakia. Burns cool, clean, and slightly slow with a long lasting pleasant after taste. The room note is exceedingly pungent. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires a couple more than an average number of relights. Not an all day smoke when smoked straight. Would make an excellent blender. Four stars.
