"No half measures" - you can't really describe the tobacco any better than that. Tabac Benden has taken on the burden of bringing the Lakeland flavor to Germany. When opening the tin, it becomes clear that no half measures have been made - the full richness of soapy-floral aromas of lavender, rose oil, patchouli escapes and may remind you of old aftershaves or soaps. The tobacco is quite moist, which may stem from the aromatization, and can easily "breathe" for 15 minutes before smoking. In the pipe, the intense aroma is more discreet and well integrated into the excellent tobacco base, which spreads after the first few minutes. There is a citrus note added here for me, as well as some nut later on. Exciting is that here, in addition to the usual Virginias in Lakeland Blends, also Burleys and even Kentucky were used. The flavoring is nevertheless always clearly in the center and continues until the end of the pipe filling, which is also reflected in the distinctive room note. There is a certain tart and spicy note, which may be due to the Kentucky - but the individual tobaccos I can not identify. The flavor settles on the palate and stays there for a while after smoking. If you like Lakelands (and are always bothered by the availability), you'll get your money's worth here. Also, if you want to try that "mysterious" Lakeland flavor, this is your chance. Those who like the St. Bruno can take the plunge here to the full Lakeland. The rest can happily ignore the tobacco. Simply a tobacco that polarizes! This goes perfectly with an Earl Grey tea.
