Drucquer & Sons Casbah
(3.50)
A beautiful mixture in the Balkan tradition, presented in our Crumble Plug format. Full and rich. Exotic, yet comfortable. A sturdy foundation of red Virginias is enhanced with a bit of bright leaf for balance, generously seasoned with fine Oriental tobaccos, then elevated with a "double shot" of deep, smoky Cyprian Latakia. The ribbons are pressed and aged in cakes, then cut into blocks, ready to be gently rubbed-out in preparation for your smoking pleasure. Grab your beverage of choice, a favorite pipe filled with these little crumbles of contentment, and get ready to rock the Casbah.

Tin note of smoky, mildly sour, and mild fermented sweet. The marbled black, brown and tan Crumble Plug rubs out easily. Tobacco is a little moist but drying isn't needed. Burns slow with a few extra relights. The strength is medium and nic is mild. No flavoring detected. Taste is medium to full and consistent, with notes of floral, smoky herbal spices, mild tart sweet fruit, moderately spicy, very woody, musty earth, a lemon grass background note, and a peppery retro. Latakia is leading with Orientals supporting. Virginias are supporting from afar as judged by the lack of some depth and mild sweetness. Room note is tolerable to strong, and aftertaste is great.
