Reviewed By Date Rating Strength Flavoring Taste Room Note
Sep 29, 2022 Medium Medium to Strong Medium to Full Pleasant to Tolerable
The tobacco base is sugary black cavendish, earthy, woody, very nutty burley, and light grassy, citrusy, bready, rather sugary, floral Virginias. The spicy, raisiny, plumy, earthy, woody perique is a couple of notches above the condiment line, though it’s the spice that gets it there. The Cyprian Latakia provides some smoke, earth, wood, and floralness in the background. The rich blackberry topping is a little more obvious than the tart peach. The sour apple is more in the background, and I notice a small honey note as well. The potency of the toppings is about 65% of the driving flavor force, but the tobaccos have a fair amount of vigor. The strength is medium. The taste is a step past that mark. The nic-hit is a notch below the overall strength level. Won’t bite or get harsh, and is rather smooth. The tobacco may need a light dry time although I did not do it as per my custom when reviewing. Well balanced with a little punchy complexity, it burns cool and clean at a slightly slow pace with a very consistent tart and tangy fruity, sugary, spicy, floral, nutty, mildly sour, deeply rich flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note is a little stronger. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires a couple more than an average number of relights. Can almost be an all day smoke for the veteran, and repeatable for the less experienced. Three and a half stars.
