The various Carolina, Brazilian, and African Virginias provide a lot of tangy ripe dark fruits, sugar, earth, wood, bread, vegetation, floralness, plenty of tart and tangy citrus, grass, mild sour lemon, stewed citrus fruits, light acidity and vinegar. The red Virginias are most obvious component. The very sugary cream, rum, and vanilla-ish casings moderately tone down the tobaccos as they simultaneously create a very consistent, deeply rich, fruity, floral, sugary, tingly spicy, vanilla flavor that extends to the pleasantly lasting after taste. The room note is a little stronger. The strength and nic-hit are a step past the medium mark. The taste is a couple of notches ahead of that mark as it almost reaches the center of medium to strong. It won’t bite or get harsh, but it is just a tad tingly. Has very few rough edges. Well balanced, it burns cool and clean at a reasonable rate. Mildly moist, it leaves little dampness in the bowl, and doesn’t require many relights. It’s a little too punchy and potent to be an all day smoke, but it is repeatable. Four stars.
