The Virginia offers some tart and tangy citrus, grass, bread, sugar, vegetation, floralness, and a couple of spice notes as the lead component. The earthy, nutty, woody burley is a supporting player. The deeply rich peach brandy is sweet with a small spice hit, and a light undercurrent vanilla. It also sports a slight sourness. It sublimates the tobaccos quite a bit without totally drowning them out. The strength is in the center of mild to medium. The taste is medium. The nic-hit is a step past the mild mark. Won’t bite or get harsh. Has a few minute rough notes. The cake is mildly moist and easily breaks apart. I saw no need to dry the tobacco. Burns cool, clean and a little slow with a very consistent fruity, sugary, lightly spicy flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. Leaves little moisture in the bowl. Requires some relights. Has a very pleasant room note. Can be an all day smoke for the veteran aro smoker, and repeatable for the less experienced. Three stars.

So rare to find a fruity aro that’s not a goopy mess. Orchard Mist is one such aro. The flavoring is pronounced and present throughout the bowl, yet never cloying. Packing, lighting and burning is easy right out of the tin and to the end of the tin.

This is my 2nd barrel-aged Crumble Kake. I won’t hesitate to try any others they come out with.

Tobacco manufacturers take note. If you want to make a killer aro, age it in a fruit brandy barrel.

Wow, this stuff is magic!

Tin note of delightfully bright and sweet peach brandy carried overtop light nutty tobacco. The real surprise here? ALL of those beautiful flavor notes actually come through in the smoke and remain throughout the entire bowl.

I've never been a big aromatic/flavored tobacco fan because, while I enjoy them as a tobacco, they almost never actually taste as they smell. Orchard Mist is an amazing exception!

The smoke is deliciously bright and sweet with a very present peach note that is neither cloying, heavy, nor fake tasting. The brandy note itself is well-mannered rather than a boozy punch in the face and the liquor note is a nice dry balance to the peach sweetness.

The smoking mechanics are also applause worthy in my experience. I've had 3 bowls so far, because I can't stop smoking it, and it packs, lights and burns like a charm requiring no relights and not getting hot or wet.

I'd like to raise a glass of peach brandy and toast Missouri Meerschaum and Sutliff for changing my perception of what aromatics can be. This is a delicious achievement.

Another fine VaBur Crumble Kake from Sutliff that has been aged for 90 days in a peach 🍑 brandy barrel and I must say that Orchard Mist gives me a nice soft fuzzy feeling 🍑

The Virginias and burleys used are of high quality and lend that lovely mix of sweetness, lemony, grassy slightly bread notes from the Virginias and a rounded more brown sugar and deeper and a touch spicy and a bit sour note from the burley. The time in that freshly decanted peach brandy barrel has added a mist of peachy goodness! It doesn’t over power the tobaccos nor is it all gloopy or icky sweet, it adds a very refreshing and mouth watering peach flavor with a dash of that brandy note too.

I smoked as crumbled straight from the tin into a fresh, and as long as my supply lasts, dedicated cob. It smoked cool and dry and smooth with a few delights and is basically a delight to the palate and the nose. Grab a tin if you can’t find it and give yourself a peach treat!!!

Tin note is very much peach. Like a peach liquor. Go figure right. It’s not a goopy wet aromatic but a crumble cake. Smoked with little and or no dry time.

Similar to the barrel aged no. 1 in that this crumble cake is not an aromatic blend which is topped with a goopy flavoring. Rather it’s Virginias and burley which have been pressed and stored in peach brandy barrels. The peach flavoring from that is what you end up tasting. It’s a mild flavoring that is not artificial and is something you can clearly taste the first 2/3 of the bowl. The fruit flavor goes well with the woody burley, which I taste more of, and tart grassy sweet Virginias. It’s delightful. It is quite nice. The tobacco itself is a mild subtly sweet tart grassy Virginia and nutty woody burley with a little spice. Basic, but satisfying. Moisture level is fine from the tin and broke apart very nicely. Definitely a repeatable smoke. Nic hit is probably medium to mild. Almost no aftertaste or mouth tingle. Retrohale is more earthy nutty burley for me. Does burn a tad fast. Glad I picked it up. Room note I’m told is fantastic too with noticeable fruit notes. I smoke this in the summer time when around other people. I enjoy the tobacco flavor, along with the fruit notes, and those around me compliment the aroma. Win win. If I needed or wanted an aromatic I’m more inclined to get this sort of crumble cake than a goopy tobacco. 4 stars!
