Even though this is advertised as Kentucky Plug, a better description is Kentucky CrumbleCake. The plug is made of Dark Kentucky and Sweet Virginia per the description. The crumble cake is easy to prepare and easy to get lit. The taste reminds me of Old Dark Fired, maybe just a touch sweeter. The KY is the star of the show and fans of Kentucky will enjoy it.

The tins in the cobblestone series all appear to be slightly below 2oz even though the tins are the regular size.

The mildly sweet dark fired Kentucky provides smoke, wood, earth, floralness, spice, mild sourness and light nuttiness. It’s the lead component. The Virginias offer some tart citrus, grass, mild earth, wood, a little tangy dark fruit with light sugar, spice and floralness in a condimental role. The strength and taste levels are medium. The nic-hit is just past the center of mild to medium. It won’t bite or get harsh, and has fewer rough notes than one would expect. This easily broken apart crumble kake burns cool, clean and slow with a very consistent moderately sweet, lightly savory, deep flavor. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires a lot of relights. Has a pleasant, lightly lingering after taste, and stronger room note. Not quite an all day smoke. Four stars.

Cobblestone - Kentucky Plug (Brick).

WOW!!

The single piece of kake is dark, breaks easily, smells smoky yet tangy, isn't too moist when broken. Chunky ''ribbons'' are achieved with ease, and then the smoke is amazing.

There's a large amount of Kentucky, smoky, very tangy, but not as ''abrasive'' as is often the case with Kentucky. The strong tanginess assuages any causticity from the curing process. I notice a very delicate sweetness, from the Virginia, but this is way down in the the pecking-order; the Kentucky rules. The smoke's cool, completely bite-free. The burn? Quite slow, extremely independent once lit.

Nicotine: Above medium. Room-note: not great, unless you like Kentucky!

Cobblestone Kentucky Plug? One of the best Kentucky blends, up there with Mac B' ODF. Highly Recommended:

Four stars.

I was able to sample some of this at the pipe club and from the description was expecting a brick hard plug but surprising it was an easy “brick” to break apart. I smoked it in a corn cob, what else is there for Burley? I found this one very mild compared to other Kentucky blends I have tried. Very smooth. Not going to lie, only had one bowl of this but pretty good.
