The potent, fragrant, fermented African Dark Virginia provides a lot of tart and tangy dark fruit, earth, wood, vegetation, bread, floralness, a little grass and spice, some tart and tangy citrus, light sugar, and a hint of cigar leaf. It is a lead component in terms of its floral effect, and not by its percentage in the blend. The year 2000 matured East Carolina red Virginia offers a burst of tangy ripe dark fruit, earth, wood, bread, sugar, some tart and tangy citrus, grass, floralness, very light spice, and vinegar ends up in as a second lead even though it’s half the mixture. In a secondary position is the very sugary, stewed tangy dark fruity, earthy, woody, bready stoved Virginia. The characteristics of the zesty, very floral African Kentucky are earth, wood, nuts, spice, and some molasses. It is just above being a condiment, though its floral quality conjoins with that of the African Dark Virginia to be one of the principal features of this production. The vanilla and floral notes from the light tounquin bean topping mildly sublimate the tobaccos as much as they synergistically help form a cohesive, very consistent, sugary, fermented, tangy sweet, floral, rugged, spicy, savory flavor from start to finish. The strength is a couple of steps past the medium threshold. The taste is a slot past that mark. The nic-hit is very close behind the strength level. There’s no chance of bite or harshness present. While the topping does tone down some rough edges, a few exist here. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. The pleasant after taste and room notes linger a little. Despite its punchy, deep richness, it’s a repeatable smoke during the day, though not quite an all day smoke. Four stars out of four.

This stuff, I have to say, is a near perfect masterpiece. I haven’t liked all of his blends, but this one hits the mark! Packs well, a bit on the moist side for my tastes, but easily remedied, ribbon cut. Still, it stays lit fairly well, smokes clean. It is a slow smoker, don’t smoke this when you aren’t prepared to sit and slow down and enjoy it, she’s a sipping tobacco with a soft, smooth sweetness, it almost reminds me of those strawberry creamsavers that lifesaver used to make, jammy notes of strawberries and cream, smooth dark kentucky and va swirl around in my mouth and all I can say is YUM! Get some of this, and then send it to me if you don’t like it. That’s all I have to say.

Exquisite. Delicious. Deep. Subtle. Fruity. Tangy. Rich. Creamy. Smooth…. I could go on, but words will never do it justice. This blend is sheer perfection. Memories of it punctuate my day, reminding me that bliss is but a bowl away.
The Virginia and Kentucky are top notch. The tonquin bean has been subtly added to bring the component tobaccos together in perfect harmony.
Customs and Excise extorted me when I ordered this (from Denmark). But, their rapacious charges were forgotten as I lit my first bowl and drifted into a zone of blissful contentment.
This is pipe tobacco at its best. Just perfect!

Came in a fantastic sealed pouch. Packed into the bowl easy, and lit up right off. The tobaccos blend so well, with the tounquin bean. A cool burning, and tasty smoke. Sweet, floral, and citrus from top to bottom. Burned with no relights, until bottom quarter. I really enjoy it . Very unique to anything I've ever tried.

Pouch note is similar to typical otc's that are a tad toward the fruity side. The tobacco is a bit sticky to the touch but very well behaved while smoking. The tonquin bean flavor is what makes this tobacco so tasty. A unique and singular flavor that can be somewhat addictive. Samuel Gawiths 1792 flake is difficult to come by, but if you crave that tonquin bean flavor, The Patience of Doctor Silence will certainly scratch that itch.

This may be then end of my quest for a mildly aromatic, flavorful smoke with a good room note. So tasty. This is art in tobacco form.
