Notes: This was a private blend that was sold by the former owner, Rich Gottlieb, of 4Noggins for approximately five years. It was discontinued due to McClelland closing down as all the tobaccos used were made by McClelland.
The Virginias offer some citrus and grass, ripe tangy dark fruit, wood, and a bit of earth. They also sport a slight floral note, and a touch of stewed fruit. The nutty, earthy, woody burley is a supporting player to add some body and complexity to the mix. It also has a very light essence of cocoa. The strength and nic-hit are mild. The taste level is a step or two past mild. No chance of bite or harshness, and has no rough edges. Burns cool, clean, and slightly slow with a slightly creamy, mildly sweet and smooth, very consistent flavor from top to bottom. Leaves little dampness in the bowl. Requires just more than an average number of relights. Has a very pleasant, lightly lingering after taste and room note. Designed to be an all day, mild Virginia based smoke that doesn’t wear out its welcome.
