First I am a dedicated worshiper of this tobacco that I have smoked for over 10 years. It comes across as an aromatic, but I would say it's a natural aromatic, rather than chemical based. The room note has many devotees! Everyone likes it! The cavendish is dark pressed and is superb. The Virginia leaf is light and quite sweet. The pouch note is fruity Christmas cake. The taste is delicious. It is plum like and as you smoke turns to a butterscotch toffee, then woody and slightly peppery / spicy, it is always sweet from the virgina leaf. I have tried other blends from Mullins&Westley, but out of all of them I found this to be the best of the rest. It is well behaved (only 2 lights needed!). You need to sip this as for the unitiniated it can run hot, so take it easy on the draw as it is a fine cut ribbon. I have this in my rotation as much as possible. In terms of comparison it is closest to St. Bruno (which I can't get enought of!) but much more tastier and more delicate and not so deep in taste but richer in variety. I strongly urge you if you are visiting London to visit the shop in old Covent Garden. It is tiny but old school, and the only shop I think now that sells loose pipe tobacco in the UK! They do I good range of fine cigars too, and unbelievably, snuff too (for those that want it!). They also sell a good range of pipes, including Dunhill white spot. You can order online too via their website. I recommend this pipe tobacco of course. Goes well with a mug of English tea.
