The bright and dark flue cured Virginias provide a little dark fruit and earth, and bit of citrus and grass along with a light woodiness, and a bare hint of floral. The strength and nic-hit are just past the mild mark, while the taste is in the center of mild to medium. Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns slightly warm and very clean at a moderate pace with a consistent, mildly sweet flavor from top to bottom. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a short lived, pleasant after taste and room note. An all day, fairly one dimensional smoke that does well as a mixer, too.
Another blend that was impeded by a customs surcharge!
Medium size ribbons, mostly brown, with a few yellow ones. The moisture's smack on.
The dark Virginia gives more flavour than the bright. I wouldn't describe it as a too heavy or sweet Virginia, but the darks lead with a doughy, bready, flavour. The brights give only a touch in comparison; a slight freshness. It burns well enough but can go quickly if a tentative technique isn't employed. The temperature's medium and it doesn't bite.
