The smoky, woody, earthy, mildly musty, floral, sweet Cyprian Latakia takes the lead with able assistance from the other tobaccos. The very nutty, earthy, woody, lightly molasses sweet, lightly dry and sharp burleys are supporting players. The grassy, citrusy, hay-like Virginia plays just below the level of the burleys. The strength and taste levels are a step or so below medium. The nic-hit is in the center of mild to medium. Won’t bite or get harsh, but has a rough edge at times, though not enough to be off-putting. That mainly comes from the burleys. Burns fairly cool and clean at the moderate pace with a very consistent, nutty, woody, smoky, campfire flavor that translates to lingering after taste. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and needs an average number of relights. Can be an all day smoke for the veteran, and certainly repeatable any time of day for smokers.

This is easily becoming one of my favorite every day smokes and can easily be an all-day smoke as well. It's not a Latakia bomb by any means but there is a good amount of Latakia here to make an English smoker very happy. The smoky, earthy, woody Latakia is enhanced by the various Burleys nutty sweetness. They also can bring a bit of an edge but it's only noticeable when lighting or re-lighting or puffing too fast. The Virginia leaf grounds the blend in the flavors of hay, grass, and citrus while also adding their own sweetness. Cool and clean burning with almost no moisture nor dottle.

If you like TC Ebony, then Safari is for you; I think the emphasis is on Safari being "bitter chocolate" when compared to Ebony. I don't have the knowledge to describe the specific aroma and taste differences of Tobacco Leaf, but the more sour, grassy, earthy, and bitter chocolate aroma is consistent throughout when compared to Ebony. The Safari has more of the bitter comfort that you would expect from Latakia, and is probably a blend that was intended to be more full-bodied than the Ebony. It's worth a try, especially if you're a Burley fan.
