Russ' Monthly Blend - Candy Cane Cocoa is the perfect blend for sitting at home in front of the fireplace. The mixture is mostly black cavendish with some Virginia and burley. It has a rich chocolate note with a hint of peppermint. What makes the blend especially interesting is that the room note smells like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, but the chocolate takes the background in the flavor as the cooling mint lingers pleasantly on the palate.

This does not have "a hint of peppermint". The peppermint is overpowering, and will ghost your pipe. This was given to me by a brother piper, who also didn't care for it. Likewise, I passed it off to someone else.

Candy Cane Cocoa - Russ' Monthly Blend.
Coarse ribbons with a higher amount of black compared to brown. I bought this from Tobaccopipes.com and as they always tightly roll their loose blends up in the pouch, it prevents any drying-out of said blend. This is as you'd expect a strong aromatic to be; a little moist! The unlit aroma's a good representation of the coming smoke: chocolatey and minty!
The mint's the stronger of the two casings; very fresh, sharp, and cooling. The chocolate addition causes a flavour reminiscent of the 80's treats After Eight Mints. Where the tobaccos are concerned it's far heavier with black Cavendish than the others; of course, the heavy flavouring helps mask the smaller amount of Virginia and Burley! The burn isn't too bad mechanically, but it has a propensity to bite without being forced to do so.
Nicotine: not a lot. Room-note: nice.
Candy Cane Cocoa? An unusual smoke, but enjoyable, nevertheless. Recommended:
Three stars.

I love this stuff. Nothing else is like it. The Peppermint makes it a cool summer smoke and with the Cocoa it's a great holiday treat. I keep a supply on hand for when I want something completely different but still good.

I bought this at Christmas time a year ago and never got around to smoking it. I lit I up this year and found it to be a delightful change of pace. The Cocoa and mint are both detected in the pouch note and while smoking. It is smooth with no bite, burns evenly and stays lit. I am not sure I will smoke it year-round, but it will definitely go into my rotation during the holidays. A great way to get into the holiday spirit.

I am a fairly new pipe smoker (about 2 months) and have tried quite a few aromatics and a couple of English Blends and this blend is the easiest smoke I have had thus far. It is only a handful of tobaccos that smell and taste the same!! It is so tasteful that it makes me smoke fast but zero tongue bite! I would highly recomend to any new smoker as it is easy to smoke and the room note is very pleasant according to my wife. This is my first review!!

This is hands down the worst tobacco I've ever had I couldn't imagine anything possibly being any worse unless it was bug spray flavored. I would rather die than smoke another bowl this awful garbage I can't imagine anything being worse. It tastes so pepperminty that I swear there's nothing else on the palate at all. It is unbelievable how strong the peppermint oil is, it is so strong that the smoke from my pipe cannot be retrohelled at all and also the smoke burns my eyes from how strong the peppermint is period whoever made this crap ought to be forced to smoke a pound of it this stuff !

I usually steer clear of Aro's. Picked this up in a large order from P & C. Very pleasantly surprised. I get peppermint right up front. Chocolate is there as well. I have somewhat learned how to slow my smoke down, this is a must for this blend. It is very wet. I left it open for a day, that helped some. I'm guessing it could bite. I was careful and didnt get bit. As long as you sip slowly, this is a neat smoke. I will order a few more ounces. I believe this could be smoked all day if you wanted.
