Motzek Moro Cake
(4.00)
Beautifully soft, spicy sweet, perfectly rounded! 50% Latakia is pressed with a pinch of black cavendish, a tad of perique and selected Virginia leafs and matured afterwards for a delicate experience for Latakia gourmets.
Notes: Salvatore Rizzuto is the co-worker of head blender Tom Darasz. Usually he only helps in production. This is his first blend for Motzek/TAK.

Really nice looking flat cake that smells of warm fruit jam or dry fruits and a tiny bit of leather even decent floral notes - a smell I could take a bath in. Rips apart well without crumbling too much and has a certain moisture that keeps me from packing straight away.
After drying it packs well and takes flames easily, burning incredibly slow then. Creamy and sweet, the Latakia gently supporting with its decent leathery spices. Full and round from the first puff yet not a bit overwhelming. Tastes of apricot or peach on top of bread loaf underlined by a true natural tobacco taste. Varieties you wouldn’t expect from a 50% Lat blend and a palette of tastes that I’ve witnessed with few other blends out there.
Superior Leaf quality and experienced blending art - that is what makes up all the TAK blends I have tried so far and this one is a bank for sure. One of my all time top 3 tobaccos. 4stars+++

Damn... what a smoke! The cake looks intriguing and has a scent of salty seawater, smoky woods and lots of leather, as well as a whiff of buttery, creamy sweetness.
I usually wouldn't have chosen a blend with 50% Latakia, but after being amazed by Hans Wiedemanns (HU Tobacco) English/Balkan blends - most with 50%+ Latakia in them - and how smooth and unobtrusive a blend with such high amount of Latakia can be, without being a Latakia-Bomb that drowns all the other components, I dared to try the Moro Cake by my other favorite blender from Germany... Tom Darasz! Well... actually it's by his (only!) co-worker for the production Salavatore!
From the first puffs on this blend is richly smoky and leathery, with a intense salty and peppery spice and woodsy undertones. The Latakia plays some groovy notes, yet leaving room for the Perique to contribute its signature pepperiness, and for the Virginias to sport some mild sweetness as well as a whiff of freshness. Blowing the smoke out of your nose makes for a pleasant tingling sensation. The Cavendish seems to be unflavoured, as this blend is only very mildly sweet, but very creamy and buttery.
Very rich and intense aroma, without being too strong, I'd rate it medium-strength! Yet due to the blasts of flavours this isn't an All-Day-Smoke to my gusto - yet you may use it as such! An instant favorite.. this baby's got charme and character!

Interesting bland probably the correct category is MEN (Modern English Mixture ) because we have all tipical EM tobacco plus Black Cavendish. In this bland I found an a little oriental tobacco and a spicy sentor. A lot of hot smoke for the winter day. It's incredible mixture. On of my favorite tobacco
