A surprising all VA blend that has no harshness, no bite,no need to order fries. I found a bit of fermented flavor and a touch of sourness, beyond that it is a wonderful mellow smoke that stands well on its own. I used it to mellow out some home blends and WOW what a mixer. overall I am glad to have some of this jarred up!

The various bright Virginias offer a big burst of tangy, fermented citrus with a mild malty tartness, a fair amount of grass and hay, some sugar, a very light dark fruitiness, wood and earth, a slight floral and small spice note, and a few drops of honey and bread. The strength level is just past the center of mild to medium, while the taste is a step past that mark. The nic-hit is a tad below the strength threshold. No chance of bite or harshness, and has no rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with a very consistent, deep flavor from start to finish. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a very pleasant, lightly lingering after taste and room note. Can be an all day smoke, or a mixer if you’re so inclined.

This is a gift from my friend Mike. Upon opening the bag I was met by a pleasant fermented malty aroma that had a pleasing background aroma of sweet hay and light earth. The moisture for this was perfect for smoking. A very long thin ribbon cut this loaded nicely.

Upon lighting I was pleased with a profusion of smoke and a very pleasant flavor of fermented malt that wonderfully blended with the background flavors of hay, light wood with a very light honey sweetness and slight touch of tanginess that was very, very light.

Burns at a medium rate and burns very cool and this wouldn’t bite if one used a blow torch to light it. A all day smoke. Has very pleasant room note. Leaves a pleasing aftertaste of a malt and honey sweetness. Burns to white ash with no moisture. This is a favorite and to say I enjoyed this is an understatement. It is too bad this is not in production currently.
