Sutliff Tobacco Company Strawberry Delight 2003
(2.33)
The "SPS" in Sutliff's SPS-2003 Strawberry Delight properly stands for Sutliff Private Stock, though Super Powerful Strawberry would also work. It's a blend of burley, Virginia, and black cavendish, with notes of chocolate, praline, and vanilla, but the main show is definitely the strawberry.

I'll tell you what surprised me the most about this blend: I lit it once and it stayed lit! The strawberry flavor is very faint. I can ID a slightly sweet berry flavor. Better than many cherry blends out there. No tongue bite. No nicotine. Worth a try.

The scent from the bag was very pleasant. I had trouble with multiple false lights, the tobacco was pretty wet. The flavor of strawberries was lighter than I thought it would be, and my room note tester could hardly note any strawberries, but did not vanilla and caramel, over all pleasant, but light flavor, room note was lacking but also pleasant. I will go back when this bag has dried a little.

Sutliff Tobacco Co. - SPS-2003 Strawberry Delight.
The strawberries dominate the pouch-note, but there's a notable trait of vanilla and chocolate, too. It's a little moist but that's how I like a blend to be. Some of it's fairly coarse and the smallest addition is the black Cavendish.
There's no contending that this is a strongly cased aromatic. The strawberry flavour has quite a sharpness and is very sweet. This over zealousness is somewhat placated by the other ingredients. Somewhat placated, not completely vanquished! This placation takes until after about a quarter bowl, up until then the strawberry monopolizes the smoke, completely. Personally, after the strawberry, I find the Vanilla more of a player than the other additions. I only get a smidgen of black Cavendish stickiness, the Burley and Virginia account for a lot more of the flavour. The burn from it's good: consistent, even, and cool. The strong topping can cause a spot of tongue bite if a gentle technique's not employed.
Nicotine: mild to medium. Room-note: very pleasant.
SPS-2003? It's a well made blend but falls under the header 'too sickly' for me. Somewhat recommended:
Two stars.
