Black & Beauty....not to be confused with "Black & Gold Krumble", this is yet somewhat similar to Black&Gold! Whilst B&Gold is 40% Perique, and having no flavoring, B&Beauty has a slightly floral flavoring to it and "only" 30% Perique. One might be scared by such high octane Perique, but the high amount of Cavendish flattens out any sharp edges and leaves a one of a kind aroma that's rounded and delicious.
Black & Beauty is mainly black, with few yellow-orange speckles and comes a bit moist. 30 mins of drying are a must I'd say, 1-2 hours are preferable to my taste. Experimentation is the key, as usual! 😉 The scent from the bag is mainly sweet, a bit sour and floral (violets?). Slightly similar to a Lakeland blend, but not as instense, or obtrusive as they can be.
Up in smoke B&B offers a creamy sweetness, slightly toasted feeling by the Cavendish (of which theres plenty). The Perique sports decent pepper and some fruitiness to the background, as well as a hint of sourness in almost every puff. Virginias are barely noticeable, may be sporting some citrus and grass if I look for it. The floral (violets-ish) note is present in almost any puff and is quite interesting. Not obtrusive, but it always has a floral-undertone. Leaves a slightly oily, sweet-floral aftertaste in the mouth, which is pleasant to me.
A pretty good smoke, not an All-Day-Smoke as I think of it. But this is a special treat for "those special hours/moments" for lovers of extraordinare blends. Leaves a pleasant, not too long lingering aftertaste.
It's worth trying, but certainly a niche blend imho. So I'll settle for 3/4 stars.
