Motzek Latakia Revival
(4.00)
Beautifully soft, finely leathery and delicate sweetness, perfectly extended by choice, ethereal-fresh Orientals, dark fired Virginias that are full of aroma and some lively perique. Highly harmonical and mild. A laid back pleasure with a enticing smoothness.

Look and smell in the pouch is very nice - different colored leaf from light brown to darker and black leaf smelling like I expect a stronger English blend to smell. Warm and leathery with hints of sweet bread.
Comes in perfect conditions and needs only short ‘breathing time’ before packing nice and springy also with smaller bowls. Takes flames immediately and burns nice and even , staying lit without much of puffing.
Tastes are solid, characterful and all natural, much of Latakia and spicy components. A bit of sweetness is contributed by VA and BC but it’s ment to be exactly that way. Perique is clearly noticeable adding a subtle sweet/sour plum-like taste. Not much ups and downs but tasty until the end.
Great all-day Latakia blend at a top pricing

As I somehow got back to Latakia blends recently, I digged through my samples and found Latakia Revival... the day before I got the chance to smoke a claypipe full of Dunhills Nightcap and loved it... somehow Latakia Revival is a pretty good alternative to it (albeit not being intended to be a match!!).
Latakia Revival is a tad less strong than Nightcap and has more fruitiness to it - tastewise. The Latakia is well measured, smoky, sweet and creamy with some leatheriness to it. The Perique mainly adds some fruity backbone, as well as minor pepper. Orientals are - as usual with Motzek blends - top notch... ethereal, nutty, woodsy, perfect! Virginias add sweetness as well as some minor citrusy notes.
More of an All-Day-Smoke than Nightcap! Truly a pleasureful blend! 14€ for 100g is an insanely good price, whilst the quality is very high. Highly recommended, to anone who likes Nightcap and alike. **Update**: This grew to be my favorite Latakia-Mixture! A worthy replacement for the Nightcap imho. Don't get me wrong... this isn't exactly as Nightcap is, but in the same vein!
