The grassy, citrusy Virginia and nutty, earthy, lightly woody burley are fairly sublimated by the wintergreen topping. The strength level falls a tad short of medium while the taste just hits that mark. The nic-hit is in the center of mild to medium. Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns cool and clean and little fast with a mostly consistent, sweet, minty flavor, meaning the topping fades just a touch in the last quarter of the experience. Hardly leaves any moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. The after taste pleasantly lingers. Can be an all day smoke if it fits your preference.

The Wintergreen (mint) was really a minor player in this blend while the Virginia takes the front seat. Being a lover of aromatics, I hoped for more casing. Lit and burned well. The quality of the tobacco was very good considering the price. Not a bad tasting blend, but I am unlikely to reorder.

Have had 2 tins in the cellar for a couple months and finally decided to crack one open and give this blend a shot. It has a very mild Wintergreen or Spearmint hint but would not consider this a Menthol tobacco by any means. I am a Menthol cig smoker and this would not be a good substitute for rolling up IMO but in the pipe it is something special. D&R has recently added this to the list of tobaccos that are not going to be manufactured anymore (Picuayne as well) and managed to find a place that still had LB bags for sale as these 2 tins are not enough.
As for smoking characteristics, this stuff like most D&R blends is on the dry side and burns with no relights or issues. No Tounge burn at all with this stuff. Highly recommend checking it out while supplies last as the is nothing quite like it that I know of very unique
