A very enjoyable blend, but not quite the latakia hit I was expecting. (To be fair my latest go to latakia blend has been H&H's Cerberus, a definite latakia bomb in a great way.) It's a bit more moist out of the tin than I prefer, but so far every bowl has smoked very clean and dry with zero dottle with no additional drying time.
I enjoy Gurkha cigars and picked up a tin of Retribution to see what the brand offers in pipe tobacco. High quality and pleasant to smoke for sure, but not a blend I'm going to reach for when looking for a full latakia experience. I have a feeling this tobacco would age very nicely and plan on socking a few tins away to test out that idea.

Tin note of smoky sweet spices and tangy fruit. Tobacco is a wide ribbon cut of dark brown, brown, tan and black. Moisture content is ok. Burns slow with few relights. The strength is medium and nic is mild. No flavoring detected. Taste is medium and mostly consistent, with notes of smoky, floral, wood, incense, spices, lemon grass, musty herbal vegetation, leather, toast, tangy dark fruit, mildly savory, sour, orange zest, a tart citrus background note, and a peppery retro. Latakia is barely leading with Oriental/Turkish and Virginias supporting. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is great.
