The Pipe Shop Southern Star
(2.00)
Light, cool burning, complex, yet delicately flavoured with hints of whisky, vanilla, and marshmallows pulling themselves from the sweet natural flavours of broken flakes and ribbon cut tobaccos. Best smoked in a long Churchwarden: as good a smoke as a hobbit could ask for!

The Pipe Shop - Southern Star (Southfarthing Pipe Weed Series).
Okay, aromatic fans will love this, natural fans won't.
The mixture's quite appealing on the eye: many different cuts, mainly medium brown, and a couple of large flake pieces. It smells sweet and false, it's this that initially turns me off about it. The moisture's good, so on with the smoke:
With the aromatics, it seems to me that the whisky sits slightly behind. It's not totally lapse, but a vanilla/sweet taste tops it. As this is heavily cased, it causes it to bite. This makes gentle sips more than expedient.
Regarding the natural tastes, I wouldn't say it's a simple VaCav: I think it has quite a healthy dose of Burley included.
The nicotine's medium, and the room-note's nice.
This is good, but not exactly my thing:
Somewhat recommended.
